On Saturday, August 15th Explore Farm to Fork by Train.
Travel by train to meet your rural neighbours on this unique Open Farm Days event. Alberta Open Farm Days theme this year is Ranchlands and Pastoralists. Explore small town farm life as it should be --by train! Along the way, we will stop to visit with local farmers, out in their fields, and learn about the crops they raise and the methods they use to provide food for your table. Enjoy a farm equipment display at the Cunningham's Farm Shop in Kelsey. It's a great opportunity to ask questions about modern farm equipment, take the opportunity to snap a few photos as well for kids and kids at heart!
Discover small town farm life, learn about crops grown in the area, and about the local wildlife, birds and flora from our expert guest on board! Enjoy locally grown snacks & beverages in the open-air gondola car. Round out your day with a locally sourced meal at Historic Heisler Hotel. To wrap up, we'll take a tour of the Elevator Museum upon our return to Forestburg.
